Aim of the game
The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible through predicting the results of games played at the FIFA World Cup 2010. The points you score will determine your position in the end rankings.
Predictions
This game is based on predicting the results of matches. The rules are very simple:
You get an overview of all the matches to be played
You have to make 2 predictions per game:
1. The final score: Prediction of the number of goals the home and away team will score
(i.e. the result at the end of the game (overtime should be included in the prediction))
2. The TOTO score: The TOTO score is a number from 1 to 3:
- Fill in a 1 if you think the first mentioned team (home) will win.
- Fill in a 2 if you think the latter team (away) will win.
- Fill in a 3 if you think the game will end in a draw.
You can choose to fill in different results for the final result and the TOTO score (i.e. you predict that France vs Italy will end in 2-1, but fill in a 3 as the TOTO score). There are however bonus points to be scored if your final result and TOTO score are both correct.
There are 4 prediction rounds:
1. All games during the group stages
2. All quarter-finals
3. The two semi-finals
4. The final
There are fixed deadlines for each game. Just before the kick-off of the game the pool will close the option to place your predictions automatically. If you failed to enter a prediction before the kick-off of a game, you will automatically score zero point for that game. In order to prevent this from happening, we will send reminders by email warning you to submit your prediction before the given deadline.
There are 4 extra prediction types on which you can score additional points:
The predictions of the tournament winner
The final group standings
The amount of goals scored during the whole tournament (this does not include the goals scored through penalty kick-outs)
The topscorer of the tournament
Scoring
Points are calculated according to the following rules:
A. Game predictions
Correct prediction of TOTO score: +2 point
Correct prediction of the result: +3 points
Both the TOTO score and the result correct: +2 bonus points
For every goal that you're off the result there is a substraction of -1 point. This means that if you have predicted 2-1 and the game ends in 1-1, you will receive 2 points. If the game ends in 1-0, you will receive 1 point. In case of extra time: the final score prediction needs to include goals scored in the extra time. Your prediction therefore is the score after 120 minutes (Penalty kicks should not be included in your final score prediction). The TOTO score prediction for the game will look at the standing after 90 minutes. So, fill in a 3 if you think the game will have extra time. There is a maximum of 7 point to be scored per game.
B. Group predictions
Correct prediction of the number 1 in the group standings after the group stage: +1 point
Correct prediction of the number 2 in the group standings after the group stage: +1 point
Correct overall group result (all 4 teams correct): +1 bonus point
There is a maximum of 3 points to be scored per group
C. Additional predictions
Tournament Winner
Correct prediction of the tournament winner: +10 points
Your predicted tournament winner comes in 2nd: +5 points
Your predicted tournament winner comes in 3rd or 4th: +3 point
Total number of goals scored
Correct prediction of the total goals scored during the tournament: +10 points
For every goal off the final amount there is a subtraction of -1 point. If the difference is 10 or higher no points will be scored.
Tournament Topscorer
Correct prediction of the tournament top scorer: +8 points
Your prediced tournament top scorer comes in 2nd: +3 points
Other Rules
Participation means: every person who has subscribed and paid before the start of the tournament
Entry fee is €7,50
Participation is only valid with full and correct registration
Prices will be distributed among the winners after the FIFA World Cup 2010 has ended
There is no possibilities to discuss about the results of the pool
The organizer of the 22rood.nl WK Pool has the right to change the rules of the pool at any moment when there is solid reasons to do so
The organizers are NOT excluded from participation ;)
Price money
The following table shows the price money division based on 75 participants. The prices for the top 3 are fixed, the rest of the prices will be adjusted according to the final number of participants. This final price money overview will be published after the start of the tournament. The following table therefore gives an indication only!
